Another FIRST for Vocation Ministry! What an honor it was to give a 2-hour presentation on how Catholic schools can becomevocation-producing to all the principals of the Diocese of Syracuse, New York! This was Vocation Ministry’s 90th workshop in 5 years!
There is little doubt that without Catholic schools we would have fewer sisters, brothers, and priests to share the news of Jesus. Since the times have changed with very few sisters and priests teaching in our Catholic schools, in order to build a culture of vocations, we must now rely on the principals and lay teachers to encourage and foster a culture of discernment and vocations.
We need to help our young people recognize that each one of them has been given a unique call from God to do something special, and if that student does not do it, it will go undone in the Church and in the world.
Let us ask God to pour out blessings on our Catholic school principals and teachers!
St. Alphonsus Liguori, pray for us!
