Seminarian/Sister Signing Day
Yearly, students see senior athletes sign national letters of intent at high school assemblies. The athletes are cheered on as hope arises for their future of playing some sport at the college level. Why not also recognize the men and women who say “Yes” to fully discern their vocation by entering a seminary or religious community by also signing a “letter of intent”? These young people need encouragement and prayers.
Even if only ceremonial, this event allows the student body to see that entering seminary or a house of formation is an honorable and normal path. The attending students witness typical young men and women asking big questions and seeking answers from God.
