Prayers for Couples in Marriage Preparation

Engagement is such an exciting time in the life of a couple with so many gatherings and decisions for the wedding to be made. Entering the relationship of married life is a serious one, and it serves as a wonderful sign of hope and strength to every faith community. A parish, which will be the couple’s parish family, can start early praying for each engaged couple. How about asking everyone to pray for those in marriage preparation in the parish, even by name. Maybe, like many parishes do for those going through Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) candidates, the couples name and photo can be placed at the entrance of the church or in the adoration chapel to remind parishioners to pray for the parish’s engaged couples.
